Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide San Diego County with the highest quality feed and supplies for  their animals  while  at  the  same   time  providing  the customer  service  that  would be  expected in a small town.  We value the relationships that we have established  with  our  long time  customers and look  foward to meeting new customers   every  day.

Who We Are

Mike Carter- Owner

Mike Carter's parents opened our Lakeside location in 1970, in 1989 Mike took over  the family business and in 1998  expanded to  the  North  County,  opening  our  Encinitas  store.   Mike  Carter  has  been  a licensed hay broker since 1984 and frequently visits the farms from where we purchase our  hay  so  that he can  assure  the  highest  quality  for  your  animals.   He  currently  resides  on  a  ranch  in  Lakeside, California with his wife Cindy and son Toby.   

 Kathy Quick- Store Manager, Lakeside

Kathy has been working in the feed industry  for  30  years  and  with  Carter's  since  1995.   She  is  very involved  in   the  Lakeside  4-H  organization  and  has  extensive   knowledge  of  both the  equine  and livestock industries.  Kathy has  dedicated  her life to learning  as much as  she can about animal  health and prides herself in the  assistance  she is able  to offer  Carter's  customers  and   the  community  as  a whole.

Mary Hopkins- Store Manager, Encinitas

Mary has been and employee of Carter's Encinitas since it opened in 1998.  She  is  highly  educated  in feline, canine and equine nutrition and  is constantly expanding her knowledge  about  new  products  in the feed industry.  Mary has been a horse and cat owner for much of her life and is committed to  helping people better understand their animal's needs.

Amanda Agajanian- Assistant Manager, Encinitas

Amanda has been involved with the equine industry for many years, first as a performer and  now  as  an employee;  being  raised  with  horses,  she  is  experienced  with  handling  and  equine  nutrition.   She  also has a broad based knowledge of canine health and wellness.  In the future,  she  hopes  to  expand her knowledge even further and make a career of helping horse and pet owners care for their animals.

Casey Lee Mott- Senior Delivery Driver, Lakeside

Casey has worked for Carter's since 1995 and as been in the feed industry for 20 years.

Noe Barroso- Senior Delivery Driver, Encinitas

Noe has worked for Carter's since 1998 when the Encinitas location was opened.
